In 2007, the General Assembly passed and the Governor signed an opitcal scan bill with a 2010 implementation deadline.  However, the bill requires funding to be provided in the next General Assembly session.  Federal legislation in the form of HR811 would provide this funding but if this fails to get passed in its current form it will be up to the state.  The coming General Assembly session will be the moment of truth for Maryland, and WE NEED YOU TO BE THERE.  PLEASE SIGN UP FOR ACTION ALERTS!
